In July, we proudly completed our 8-week group exercise and education program, Move Well, Live Well, in partnership with DOVIDA. This initiative is designed to help seniors improve their health, fitness, and mobility through a combination of exercise sessions and educational talks.
Each week, participants learned about a different health topic essential for seniors, including exercise, mental health, heart health, bone health, nutrition for healthy eating, diabetes, and more. The program not only focused on getting moving but also on providing practical knowledge that seniors can apply to improve their quality of life.
We were thrilled to have a variety of guest speakers contribute their expertise throughout the program. A huge thank you to:
- Amand Muhl from Eatsense, who provided valuable insights on nutrition.
- Veronica Vogel from Nutrition Fix, who shared tips on healthy eating habits.
- Maria Murray from Avoca Beach Podiatry, who discussed foot health and mobility.
- Alex Wilson from Mindful Recovery Services, who spoke about mental health and mindfulness practices.
And, of course, Rhiannon Walton, our Chief Exercise Physiologist, who guided participants through the exercise sessions, helping them strengthen their bodies and stay active throughout the program.
