Beat It: Diabetes Australia Exercise & Lifestyle Program

We are proud to be an approved facilitator of Beat It, a fully funded, evidence-based eight-week group exercise and lifestyle program developed and managed by Diabetes Australia. This free program supports adults living with or at risk of type 2 diabetes and other chronic lifestyle conditions.

What is Beat It?

Beat It combines moderate-intensity aerobic, strength and balance training with healthy living education. Led by Conveniently Active’s qualified Exercise Physiologists who have been trained by Diabetes NSW & ACT, this program helps you ease into regular physical activity at your own pace, within a welcoming and supportive group setting.

What Does the Program Include?

Beat It features a one-on-one assessment tailored to your fitness level, sixteen group exercise sessions (two per week), educational sessions on nutrition and wellness, progress tracking, and a final consultation.

Key Benefits

Participants report improvements in blood glucose control, cardiovascular fitness, strength, balance, mood, and overall wellbeing. The program also helps with bone, joint, heart and brain health, and offers valuable social connection. Around ninety per cent of participants continue to include exercise in their ongoing diabetes management.

How to Join

If you are registered with the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), you can join Beat It for FREE! Visit the Diabetes Australia website to find out more about the program and how to get referred.
