My name is Rhiannon Walton. I’m the owner and senior Exercise Physiologist at Conveniently Active Exercise Physiology. I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2013. Since then I have worked within both private practice and within hospital settings.
I started Conveniently Active with the vision of offering the community affordable and accessible health care. After working in outpatient and inpatient units within the hospital system, it became even more evident that there are lacking services within the community that both prevent and manage chronic disease and injury.
There were two major issues that I witnessed: 1) cost and 2) accessibility of services such as exercise rehabilitation and therapy. At Conveniently Active we provide home visits for our clients that have mobility issues, difficulties travelling or simply feel more comfortable in their own home rather than coming to one of our locations. We also provide bulk-billing services, and private health funds are available when eligible.
My passion is to create exercise plans that are realistically implemented into my client’s day, whether that is at home, at the gym, at the pool or even going for a walk around the park. As an Exercise Physiologist I specialise in prescribing exercise for chronic medical conditions, chronic injuries and pain. My primary areas of interest are exercise intervention for cardiac rehab, cancer recovery, type II diabetes management and the management of osteoarthritis. I also enjoy helping my clients learn what form of exercise they enjoy and what works for them to help their lifestyle goals including general fitness and weight management.
I am very particular about improving posture and muscle balance, and ensuring that the right muscles are working during particular movement patterns – I believe these are the key ingredients to effective exercise implementation for many chronic injuries.
Outside work? I love to be outdoors, especially bush walking, walking along the beach and taking my dogs to the park. I have two beautiful (and very energetic) kelpies under the age of two. I have a wonderful husband named Michael, we are only recently married as of October 2018!!!
My name is Alyssa, I have recently graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology. I strongly believe exercise is medicine and am passionate about helping people manage chronic health conditions through individualised exercise prescription.
My primary areas of interest are cardiac rehabilitation, management of metabolic conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, falls prevention and working with older individuals, as well as assisting with general health and wellbeing. I am passionate about helping people manage their condition through implementing an achievable and realistic exercise program. I enjoy assisting people in finding what exercise they enjoy most and achieving their health and fitness goals. I am also passionate about helping people be able to perform day to day activities with ease and independence and live a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Outside of work I enjoy keeping active through bushwalking, snorkelling and SCUBA diving and going to the gym. I enjoy spending time with my family whether it is going for a coffee or out for dinner or having a knitting or crocheting session with my mum.
My name is Hayden, I graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2019 with a bachelor of Exercise Physiology.
I began working within the hospital setting before joining the team at Conveniently Active.
I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients, from chronic disease management to persistent pain, mental health and more.
I am passionate about the benefits of movement and exercise and assisting people to build individualised exercise and lifestyle plans to improve their quality of life.
I enjoy keeping active in my free time whether it's going to the gym, swimming, climbing or walking my dog.
